Dr. Mitchell is a 1998 graduate of Texas A&M University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated with a bachelor of Veterinary Science in 1995 and went on to complete her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. Mitchell is second author of “Evaluation of Three Heat Sources for Their Ability to Maintain Core Body Temperature in the Anesthetized Avian Patient”, Journal of Avian Medicine and Surgery and co-author of “Myofascititis in a Ferret” published as pathology case in Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association January 1, 2013.  Since 1998, she has worked in private practice and emergency care in the Denton-Dallas area caring for small animals including birds, reptiles, ferrets, rabbits as well as dogs and cats.  She also helps with rehabilitation of wildlife including squirrels, turtles and raptors.
In January 2009, she became a veterinary chiropractitioner and is using a technique called Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation (VOM) along with low level laser therapy (cold laser) to rehabilitate and help the body heal.  She is caring for all species large and small that have musculoskeletal disease, endocrine diseases, allergies and various other conditions.  She is also certified in regenerative cell therapy.  Dr. Mitchell’s goal is to provide animals with good quality of life through alternative therapies, nutrition and supplements along with conventional veterinary medicine when needed.  You can have Dr. Mitchell care for your dog, horse, goat or cat by having your veterinarian do a referral or you can contact her on  your own.  She looks forward to helping your pet regain strength and a healthier, happier life.
